What counts as a Pooh quote is somewhat up for debate. However a distinction can be made between Pooh quotes that can be directly attributed to A. A. Milne, the original creator of Pooh, and Pooh quotes that arise from the Disney franchise: the movies, the direct-to-video features, plus the endless TV series etc. (The story of Pooh and friends has also apparently been transformed into radio shows and theatre productions, but for the purposes of this website I have assumed that these additional media have not substantially contributed new Pooh quotes to the world, so have not included them in my source-checking activities to date. Email me with examples if I'm wrong!)
For the purposes of this website, when checking the source of quotes I have searched electronic transcripts of all relevant publications by Milne, plus all full length movies, short length movies, direct-to-video movies, and TV holiday specials, except for "Seasons of Giving" (a 1999 direct-to-video movie), "A Winnie the Pooh Thanksgiving" (a 1998 TV holiday special, which is included in "Seasons for Giving"), "A Valentine for You" (a 1999 TV holiday special), plus direct-to-video movies released after 2006 for which I have as of yet been unable to find transcripts. (Aside: There's something particularly weird about Pooh, a decidedly British bear, celebrating Thanksgiving, but I'll save that for another website.) I have so far excluded the Disney TV shows from my quote checking activities because a) it would be very difficult to secure transcripts from all episodes of these shows and b) it seems unlikely that these shows would have contributed novel and worthy Pooh quotes to world. (Again, correct me, with examples, if I'm wrong.)
In terms of A. A. Milne's work, while Pooh bear did feature indirectly in a few of Milne's earlier poems, the sole source of Pooh-related quotes comes from just two book: Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner. In terms of the Disney franchise, the following is a list of key movies, DVDs, and featurettes to date:

* I have asterisked the movies above for which I do not currently have electronic transcripts. Please email me if you are able to direct me to a credible transcript for any these sources and I'll add them to my database.
